What We Do - Education-Training-Take Action-Win

Florida Campaign for Liberty on the Ground in Tallahassee

Florida Campaign for Liberty provides our members with the tools, training and education they need to advance liberty in Tallahassee! Our Executive Director John Hallman has spent the last 16 years travelling to Tallahassee and he has learned what works and does not work in the legislative process. John’s extensive knowledge of the legislative process will make it exceptionally easy for you to become an effective activist for liberty. You will learn how to we can be a countervailing force against the special-interests lobbyist who pressure legislators for bigger government and loss of liberties.

John Hallman travels to Tallahassee to represent the principles of liberty before the Florida Legislature during early legislative committee meetings and the 60-day session.

Legislative Tracker

Check out our “Legislative Tracker” on our web site. John provides up-to-date list of bills, bill sponsors, committee assignments, and explanation of the bill.

Action Alerts through E-mail and Social Media

John researches, tracks and reports proposed legislation as it moves through the legislative process and provide up-to-the-minute legislative alerts to keep you informed and ready to take-action, including: Bill Summaries, Bill Sponsors, Committees, Bill Analysis, Legislator and Committee Profiles. If you do not share your views with your representative, then your views will not be considered by your state representative when he or she votes on an issue which affects you. You can make a difference by simply writing, calling, meeting, or faxing your representative!

Policy Papers

It is difficult for citizens to spend hours researching an issue or bill being debated in Tallahassee. John Hallman uses his 16 years of legislative advocacy to provide background information and talking points to assist activists to be more knowledgeable when talking to their legislators.

Keep up to date on training, legislative agenda, legislative strategy, Liberty News, and special events in your area. We will have upcoming webinars where Executive Director John Hallman will give you all the information you need to know on the Florida legislative session for 2020.

Campaign for Liberty believes that greater constituent pressure upon the political class is a healthy thing. If you believe in limited government, you are welcome to attend -- no matter what organization you belong to.

Liberty Days in Tallahassee

Liberty Days is a great chance to meet with legislators to advance our agenda of less government and more freedom and liberty.

Because face to face interaction is the most effective in lobbying, legislators are flooded with lobbyist visits. Being in Tallahassee during the pre-session hearings and the actual legislative session gives us that face to face advantage. It comes down to numbers game, when a group of concerned citizens take time to travel to Tallahassee makes an impact on how legislators will vote.

John Hallman organizes “Day at the Capitol” and schedules legislative appointments so that you are meeting the right people to influence legislation. John will guide through the Capitol and explain the legislative process.

When the session ends, we do not rest, we are working hard on legislative surveys and scorecards to make sure that you have the information you need to make a good decision on who to vote for on election day. The off season is also when we travel the state conducting activist schools to give you the best training to be the most effective in pressuring legislators and understanding the legislative process.

Legislator Scorecard

The Florida Campaign for Liberty believes in educating the voters of Florida on the legislative process and we feel it is important that you know how legislators voted on key issues of liberty. We put together a cross-section of legislation to provide you the most comprehensive look into how you were represented in Tallahassee. This will allow you to hold your representative accountable.

Candidate Survey

We send out a candidate survey every election to all candidates filed to run for state office, Governor, Cabinet positions, State House and Senate. These surveys get a candidate on record on how they will vote if elected and helps new candidates learn the issues. Florida Campaign for Liberty will send our members a copy of all candidates that submitted the survey and their responses.

County/Local Coordinator Project

As many of our elected officials continue to treat our Constitution with contempt, it is more important than ever that we actively participate in government at all levels and reinsert common sense into the political conversation. We can take a very important step in winning our liberties back by becoming a Florida Campaign for Liberty Local Coordinator.

Constituent contacts are the most effective in influencing legislators, and by building local coordinators we can have an army of liberty activists in every state House and Senate district and that constituent influence will be extremely effective in driving public policy in Tallahassee.

The key to successful grassroots activism is assembling people who share common goals and concerns. Recruiting, equipping, and training new local coordinators is a high priority and is vital to our success. These activists will recruit and petition within their own neighborhoods, and they will be your eyes and ears at the many local government meetings throughout your county.

John Hallman believes this may be the most important mission of the Florida Campaign for Liberty and is working every day to recruit and train local coordinators.

Activist Training

“You have to know the rules of the game. And then you then you have to play it better than anyone else.” Albert Einstein

Learn how to master control of the political environment at the local, state, and national level. This is not, I repeat, not, a seminar on ideas or theories --- this is a seminar about how to create change. This is a class on what you need to do to be respected and feared by the political class.

If you are frustrated by politicians who say one thing to the public, but break their promises, then this class is for you! Arm yourself with the tools that will enable you to have a major impact on the political environment.

Our training is centered around two main power-point presentations;

•Navigating the legislative process. This presentation trains activists on how bills move through the legislature, including committees, amendments, and how to track bills.
•What Politicians don’t want you to know and how to effectively influence Policy. This presentation teaches what motivates politicians, why they govern the way they do and how we must change the way we deal with politicians.

Candidate Training

We conduct campaign training school for candidates, and activists interested in running for office or working on political campaigns.
